Astroturf Installation Process
Remove old soil
For the best results, you want your artificial grass to be level with the surrounding terrain. This often means that the old soil has to be excavated or removed. Sometimes artificial turf is placed on top of tiles, but we always recommend removing it. Our astroturf installation service will remove the old substrate and, if necessary, excavate a piece.
Raising with sand
After the subsoil has been excavated, the artificial grass layer will raise it with sand. This ensures that the surface remains nicely even during the life of the grass and there is less chance of potholes under the grass carpet. The layer usually uses street sand for this. By applying this layer of sand you are assured of a good surface for your artificial turf.
Create an even surface
After sufficient sand has been applied to the substrate, it is vibrated and smoothed with a vibrating plate. After this, the sand bed is completely leveled and extremely firm. Because the bottom is compacted, it will remain flat for a long time and you can enjoy your beautiful artificial grass for an extra-long time.
Laying the artificial grass
Now the pressure distribution cloth and the astroturf can be laid. The layer will place the rolls of pressure distribution cloth and artificial grass on one side of the field and roll them out. When there is an irregular shape or obstacles, the layer will cut these out with a special artificial grass knife. If several rolls are installed, they can be attached with adhesive tape.
