High-Performance Artificial Sports Turf in San Antonio, TX

Mike Sigman and his crews at Waterloo Turf did a fantastic job. This was a 2-day project from removing existing grass, prep the yard, to turf installation. We did a 800+ sq ft of turf with Colorado river rocks (8 cu yards) around the perimeter. There were so many steps that went into this, and José (Mike's foreman) and crews really put nice touches in all of those steps: installing bender boards, then a thick layer of limestone, machine compressor to pack it in, then another layer of decomposed granite, then the commercial grade weed barrier, then turf installation on top. They also do the rolling edge, which covered the entire bender board. For turf connection, they did the S cuts and turf glue which completely got the seams hidden. To top it all, they spread green Wonderfill and fluffed the turf which sent the Wonderfill to the roots (about 2lbs of Wonderfill per sq ft of turf). For comparison, another company I got a quote ran $2 more per sq ft installed for a lesser quality of turf, they don't roll the edge over (so the bender board would be visible), and they would use 5-in nails allover the turf which might create problems in the long run. They also don't do S cut, so the seams would be more visible to the straight cut. For the base, the competitor would only use limestone, no decomposed granite on top, and they would place the weed barrier at the bottom of the base instead of on top of the base. For infills, the competitor would use some type of synthetic silica that isn't green and not antimicrobial, and would charge $1 extra per sq ft if we wanted Wonderfill. It was an easy decision to choose Mike's Waterloo Turf service over the competitor, and very glad we did. Strongly recommend them to anyone. You should always get multiple quotes, but have Mike come in first to he could advise you what to ask when you get quotes, and then you could really see the difference.

Waterloo Turf did it again! After they did an amazing job on the first section of my yard, I had them come back out to finish up the rest of the space, and they knocked it out of the park. My salesman, Dorsey, made the entire scheduling and planning process completely seamless and hassle-free. When it came to the installation, Jose and his crew were absolute professionals. They worked efficiently, paid close attention to every corner and border, and left the backyard absolutely flawless. The turf looks amazing next to the patio and rock borders. Waterloo was not the cheapest necessarily, but they were the most thorough with their presentation and options, and rather quite accommodating with special requests I had. Made me feel very comfortable hiring this company for such an important project. They arrived as scheduled, and everything went very smoothly.
